Dawson WAM is continuing work on sewer network improvement scheme in Newtownards.
The contractor is delivering the project on behalf of NI Water as part of a five-year £18 million investment programme across Northern Ireland.
The first phase of the scheme, which involved investigative and design work, has now been completed. Work on stage two is set to begin in mid-November on the outskirts of Newtownards.
The six-week scheme involves installing 'liners' in existing pipelines, the open-dig repair of short sections of sewer at isolated locations, as well as the laying of some sections of new replacement pipelines and associated works.
The majority of work in this phase will be completed utilising trenchless 'no-dig' techniques, which will significantly cut down on timescales.
