Funding has been approved to develop a new community centre in Newry.
A total of £335,000 has been secured for the new centre which will be on a site adjacent to Quayside Close sports pitches at the Albert Basin.
It will provide modern community facilities for people living in the area, including sports changing facilities for the adjacent playing fields. Delivery of the project will be managed by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
Communities Minister Paul Givan said: "This community building will be a welcome new local venue and will enable the Drumalane/Quayside Close Community Association to offer a variety of programmes and activities for residents of all ages, within a safe purpose built facility.
"The project is a prime example of how partnership working between the public, private and community sectors result in beneficial outcomes for the local community."
