Markievicz Leisure Centre Reopens

The Sport and Fitness Markievicz Leisure Centre in Dublin has officially re-opened.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr, helped to re-open the facility on Townsend Street.

The Lord Mayor said: "I want to congratulate Sport and Fitness Markievicz for organising this day to encourage people to look after their health and fitness by using the many facilities that are available in the centre.

"I know lots of people make new year resolutions to take out gym membership, but I hope by sampling the facilities on offer here today people will be encouraged to keep up their membership and continue to look after their physical and mental wellbeing."

Members of the public are invited to drop in to the centre throughout the day and sample the facilities on offer in the centre free of charge.
