A boil water notice put in place in April 2015 in Loughill, Co Limerick, has been lifted after a €300,000 investment by Irish Water.
Work to connect the Loughill Public Water Supply to the Foynes Shannon Estuary supply has been completed. Its removal means that there are no boil water notices currently in place in the county.
The notice was put in place following concerns that houses could potentially receive water without adequate chlorine treatment.
The work also involved the construction of 3.5km of new watermains.
Paul Cremin, Regional Capital Programmes Lead with Irish Water, commented: "Irish Water and Limerick City and County Council acknowledge the patience, cooperation and assistance of the residents during the period of the Boil Water Notice and greatly regret any inconvenience caused as a result.
"We are pleased to confirm that, as a result of this work, all those served by the Loughill Water Supply Scheme and not just those who were on a Boil Water Notice will now enjoy a much improved water supply."
