Cairn Homes has put forward plans to develop an enterprise centre in Charlesland, Co Wicklow.
The centre will form part of a development which includes the building of a new school, a community centre, and hundreds of new homes for Greystones residents.
Fianna Fáil TD for Wicklow and East Carlow Stephen Donnelly welcomed the announcement.
He said: "I recently met with Cairn on this project and I believe that their plans; if correctly implemented, would see a significant boost for Greystones both commercially and within the community.
"I will be focusing my efforts on seeking a development that reflects the needs of Greystones entrepreneurs and new businesses. It must be able to provide them with high quality office space, high-speed internet and suitable meeting spaces. Recent projects like The Hatch Labs in Wexford have seen significant benefits to the community, and I hope that these can be replicated in Greystones.
"I believe there has been acknowledgement across all parties that Greystones, in particular, has been in need of a centre such as this for a number of years. I look forward to the completion of the planning process."
