Serious concerns have been raised over the increase in the number of people living in emergency accommodation in Co Louth.
A total of 110 people have been recorded as homeless in the area and figures in the north east show 14 families are homeless.
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD said the figures were "shocking".
He said: "It is simply unacceptable that this is continuing. Homeless services are facing unprecedented demand for assistance and that is a damning indictment of this government’s approach.
"The housing and homelessness crisis is a direct result of the policies pursued by the current government and previous administrations. It is essential that the government changes direction by introducing effective rent controls, increasing capital funding to local authorities to build social housing, and ensuring improved security of tenure."
