Conwell Contracts is to start sewer laying works in south Belfast.
NI Water appointed the contractor to carry out the works which will take place in the University Street area and begin on Monday, 02 October.
The proposed construction works involve laying approximately 210 metres of 150mm storm sewer along University Street/Dudley Street onto Fitzroy Avenue, with the sewer being laid to serve a new residential development.
Detailed traffic arrangements have been discussed with the Department for Infrastructure to minimise the impact of the works on residents, road users and the public.
A temporary one-way road closure will take place on University Street at the commencement of the works for up to four weeks. During this time, there will be no access to University Street from the Ormeau Road end, however normal access will be available from the Botanic Avenue end.
Following the completion of the work on University Street, work there will be a road closure on Dudley Street for approximately two weeks, followed by a road closure on Fitzroy Avenue for two weeks.
Diversions will be put in place.
