Funding for the Town and Village Renewal Scheme has been increased by €3 million next year.
The scheme is aimed at improving and upgrading areas throughout Ireland.
Fine Gael Deputy Pat Deering welcomed the funding and said: "A total of 11 community initiatives received funding to enhance our local areas last week, and the Budget allocation will ensure even more of our towns and villages across Carlow will benefit next year.
"This is an excellent opportunity to create a more vibrant, inclusive future for our communities and support the people and families who live in rural Ireland."
