New research has revealed that Brexit will have a negative impact on the construction industry throughout Ireland.
The data by the Federation of Master Builders outlines that huge economic barriers will be erected for small construction firms in Ireland as a result of Brexit.
Sinn Fein MLA Chris Hazzard said: "Over half of local construction firms said a Brexit frontier in Ireland would impact on prices of materials, 40% said it would impact on their ability to hold on to jobs, and a third have already suffered financially since the Brexit vote.
"The FMB joins an ever-growing chorus of voices across society taking a firm stance against the damaging social and economic impact of Brexit on the island of Ireland.
"In recent months I have met with representatives of the construction industry to hear their concerns, and will meet with them again in the wake of this research."
