Nine recommendations have been made to improve safety in the 33 tower block homes across the six counties in Northern Ireland.
Sinn Fein met with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to ensure the safety in tower blocks following the tragedy of Grenfell Towers in London.
Carál Ní Chuilín said: "Sinn Féin have campaigned extensively for additional safety measures for tower block homes, and especially for installation of sprinkler systems and the maintenance of a concierge service.
"In an independent briefing to the Housing Executive today nine recommendations were made to improve safety in the 33 tower block homes across the six counties.
"I welcome the fact that two of these recommendations, concerning sprinkler systems and maintaining concierge services as a matter of safety, have been recommended and will be discussed at future meetings at the Board of the Housing Executive."
