The LUAS in Finglas, Dublin, will not be developed until 2027 at the earliest, despite the Government's launch of Protect Ireland 2040.
Fianna Fail has hit out at the government and said the plans only provide for the planning, design and appraisal of the Finglas LUAS project.
Dublin North West, Cllr Paul McAuliffe, also confirmed no funding has been allocated for the project.
He said: "Whether Fine Gael wish to ignore or not, the fact remains that the Government’s published plans confirm that Finglas LUAS will not be progressed until at very least, 2027.
"That in mind, and provided it will take at least two years to construct, we can expect that it will be 2030 before passengers step foot on a LUAS line in North Dublin."
