Electricity firm ESB is being urged to explain why a number of businesses were left without power on Monday afternoon, 19 February.
A power outage affected around 3,900 businesses and restaurants in Dublin.
Fianna Fail has called on the firm to release a statement on what caused the power outage.
Senator Catherine Ardagh said: "I would like to see an explanation from ESB of how this has happened and what they are doing to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"With construction ongoing at sites around the city, all third party contractors making contact with underground electrical network need to be well warned about the impact an outage has on Dublin City Centre businesses."
