GMC Construction has been appointed to install new water mains in Rathgar, Dublin.
Work is to start on Monday, 05 March, and is expected to take 10 weeks to complete.
The current water mains are old and burst frequently.
The works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
The water pipes will be replaced with new modern high density polyethylene pipes. The works will also see the replacement of old damaged service connections.
The benefits of the project include a more reliable and secure water supply and improved water quality for our customer and the community. The necessary improvements will greatly reduce leakage in the network. The project will also deliver cost savings by providing improved water network operation that will require less maintenance in the future.
