Refurbishment work has been completed on a play area and outdoor gym in Plumbridge, Co Tyrone.

The area was significantly damaged by flooding last August.

A spokesperson from Derry City & Strabane Council confirmed that work is progressing at the play area and pitches at Newtownstewart, as well as at the play area at Donemana.

A number of areas in rural parts of the Council area were badly affected during the floods, including two recycling centres at Donemana and Newtownstewart. Both facilities have since reopened, while repair works are continuing at the Plumbridge MUGA.

Contractors have been appointed to carry out repair works at Learmount Forest where a number of pathways were washed away and it is hoped works to replace these pathways will commence shortly.
