Sinn Fein is calling for technical specifications for the Targeted Agricultural Modernisaton Scheme (TAMS) to be updated after some sheds were not able to withstand the recent snow storms in Ireland.

The party's spokesperson on Agriculture, Martin Kenny TD, said the roof collapsed on some sheds built to TAMS specifications.

He said: "While it would be unrealistic to suggest that every grant-aided farm structure should be able to withstand the most extreme weather conditions, maybe it is time for an update of technical specifications to ensure that current climate change concerns are taken into account, especially in areas of the country where extreme weather episodes have recurred in recent years."
