The Government has been called to ensure all charities that work with homeless people on the frontline are provided with the resources required to continue to provide emergency accommodation and support
Fianna Fáil made the call after a number of charities provided beds to homeless people during Storm Emma.
TD John Curran said: "At the outset I must acknowledge and commend the exceptional work carried out by volunteer led organisations over the course of the storm. Their work highlighted the fact that there are significantly more people who are rough sleepers in Dublin than had been previously acknowledged.
"These services have had an opportunity to connect with people in homelessness or who are forced to live on the streets and can now work closely with them to be housed or placed in emergency temporary accommodation."
