Triur Construction has completed work to repair a bridge in Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare.

The contractor carried out the project at Saint Brendan's Bridge. Works included masonry repair and repointing, grouting, and the installation of tie bars and pattress plates.

The council has also reinstated a plaque on the bridge parapet, which reads 'Saint Brendan's Bridge - Built AD 1844 - James Boyd C S'. The plaque was discovered in two pieces by workers during the early days of the project..
