Boil Water Notice For Kilconnell Public Water Supply And Ballyboggan Group Water Scheme Still In Place

Construction News Image
Irish Water has reaffirmed a boil water notice for customers supplied by the Kilconnell Public Water Supply and the Ballyboggan Group Water Scheme is still in place.

The notice has been in place since 18 June as elevated levels of turbidity in the raw water remains in place.

Irish Water said: "We have instructed a hydrogeologist to carry out trials at an alternative borehole supply to determine if it is suitable to supply the scheme. If this is successful then this would be used as a temporary solution.

"A longer term, permanent ground water solution is also being investigated by the hydrogeologist. The boil water notice will remain in place while the short term solution is being trialed. We will continue to liaise with the HSE on the matter.

"Vulnerable customers on the scheme, who have self-declared with Irish Water, will be notified individually and will receive bottled water.

"Irish Water and Galway County Council regret the inconvenience that this notice is having on customers and a further update will be issued soon."
