Almost £500,000 has been secured for a major regeneration project in L'Derry.

The Executive Office's Urban Villages initiative has awarded funding towards the Abercorn Road initiative, which will see the upgrade and improvement to commercial and residential properties along the street.

The project, designed by a partnership project team consisting of Triax Neighbourhood Partnership Board, City Centre Initiative, Derry City & Strabane District Council and Urban Villages, aims to improve the overall appearance of Abercorn Road.

Commercial properties will be eligible to receive funding support towards a range of interventions to include new shopfronts, façade painting, signage and removal of external shutters where applicable.
