Work is underway on a new £2.3 million development at Blanchflower Playing Fields in Belfast.
The project will involve the construction of an Irish Football Association standard pitch, pavilion and associated facilities for H&W Welders FC.
Belfast City Council has also invested £1.1m to develop a 3G pitch for the local community on the site.
Councillor Jim Rodgers, Chair of Belfast City Council's Strategic Policy and Resources Committee and Mr John Davidson, H&W Welders FC Treasurer, officially kicked off the first phase of the development.
The project will be completed in 15 months.
