Construction News Image
MP Coleman has begun work on £240k renovations at St Patrick's Hall in Ardboe.

The works will improve the accessibility of the hall with front entrance improvements and the installation of a lift.

Work began on Tuesday 13 November and is expected to be completed by March 2019.

The Mid Ulster Rural Development Partnership (Local Action Group) funded 75% of the project, with the remaining 25% coming from Mid Ulster District Council.

Chair of Mid Ulster Rural Development Partnership, Councillor Sean Clarke, said: "Through funding from the NI Rural Development Programme, Mid Ulster Rural Development Partnership will be making available £2.15m for capital investment to complete a range of projects across the Mid Ulster District Council area under the Village Renewal Scheme.

"The partnership approach of the local Council working closely with local communities is the model which brings most benefit to delivering actions identified in the village plans."

Welcoming the news, Chair of the Council, Councillor Sean McPeake, added: "This latest project in Ardboe is one of a total of 37 which will take place across the district in the next number of years. Each one has been developed by and with local communities, and once complete, the addition of a lift and enhanced access to St Patrick's Hall in Ardboe, will provide an accessible meeting place for the local community to meet and use as required.

"I look forward to seeing work begin and to following progress."
