Farrans Construction is to replace ageing water mains in Rooskey Village, Co Roscommon, starting in late November.
Approximately 860 metres of mains is to be replaced with new plastic pipes, creating a more secure water supply for locals.
The works will begin at the R371/L-1415 junction and finish at the River Shannon Bridge, lasting 10 weeks.
Traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of the works.
The project is being delivered on behalf of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council under the utility's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
It is expected to be complete by late January 2019.
