Housing Construction Activity Rises In Fingal

Housing construction activity has risen in Fingal, with around 2,000 homes delivered in 2018.

The homes have been delivered in 73 active sites across the county.

Areas like Baldoyle, Portmarnock, Malahide and the south Fringe have all seen significant increases over the past 12 months.

Fingal County Council's Director of Planning and Strategic Infrastructure AnnMarie Farrelly said: "Naturally there has been quite a focus on housing and we are very pleased we are almost back to 2008 construction levels. In 2018 there will be around 2,000 houses constructed in Fingal. We are pleased with this upward trend which is real evidence of homes being delivered."

Speaking about plans for 2019, Ms Farrelly added: "We will facilitate high quality housing in the right locations.

"We have the opportunity to ensure the Fingal area is ready to embrace development opportunities and ensure the delivery of high quality communities. Significant masterplanning has been carried out and is ongoing to achieve this."
