Farrans Construction is to begin work to upgrade the water supply in several areas of County Sligo next week.
The contractor will replace ageing water mains with new plastic pipes on the Templehouse Road at Camross, Ballymote and Bunduff, Mullaghmore.
Approximately 1.8km of mains will be replaced in Camross, with an additional 381 metres planned in Bunduff.
The work will help reduce leakage in the water network and ensure a reliable water supply for local people.
It is being delivered on behalf of Irish Water and Sligo County Council as part of the utility's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Traffic management and local diversions may be in place in periods throughout the works.
Dave Murphy, Irish Water, said: "We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause. We will continue to work with the community to minimise disruption."
The works are expected to be completed by March 2019.
