Northern Ireland firm Lagan Specialist Contracting has landed a major maintenance contract at London Southend Airport.
The contractor's division, Lagan Airport Maintenance will upgrade the durability and performance of the runway at the UK airport.
Work will involve the removal of 50mm of the existing surface course and installation of 200mm overlay of grooved Marshall asphalt utilising an in-house batching plant. Other works will include friction testing, Airfield Ground Lighting and white lining.
The project began in January 2019 and is expected to be complete in three months.

Lagan secured the contract from Stobart Rail & Civils.
