NI Water has launched a £4.5 million sewer project in Dundrum with the first phase of work set to get underway next week.
The £4.5 million project will upgrade the sewerage infrastructure in the Main Street area, including the replacement of two existing Wastewater Pumping Stations.
When complete, the project will reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and environmental pollution in this part of the sewerage network during periods of heavy rainfall.
BSG Civil Engineering will deliver the scheme in a number of phases over the next two-three years.
The first phase of work will begin on Monday 18 February and continue until Friday 03 May 2019. This will involve the installation of 2km of new sewers between the existing Dundrum Waste Water Treatment works on the Newcastle Road and School Road.
