Irish Water Launches Sewer Scheme In Letterkenny

Irish Water has launched a scheme in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, to reduce sewer flooding and improve the quality of water supply.

Work commenced along Pearse Road yesterday, 20 May, as part of the utility's €44 million investment in the Letterkenny Regional Water Supply Scheme and €5.6 million investment in the Letterkenny Sewerage Scheme.

The project will continue on Pearse Road until the end of October.

Further work is also scheduled to take place on Circular Road, Pearse Road, and Bunlin Bridge over the next few weeks.

The utility met with the Letterkenny elected officials and Chamber of Commerce to review traffic management plans for water and sewer upgrade works that are taking place in the town and surroundings.

Traffic management plans are currently in place with support from Donegal County Council Road's Department and An Garda Siochána helping to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
