Irish Water's national leakage reduction is progressing well across Cork, with work scheduled to take place in the west of the county next week.
The utility will work with Cork County Council to replace 770 meters of problematic water mains in the Foxhall and Cahermore areas. They will be replaced with modern, polyethylene (plastic) pipes.
Coffey Northumbrian will carry out the works starting on Wednesday 29 May, running from Cahermore Cross on the Cahermore Road towards Rosscarbery.
Steven Blennerhassett, Leakage Reduction Programme Regional Lead, said: "Replacing the old, damaged pipes will improve water quality and ensure a more reliable water supply for the Foxhall and Cahermore areas. These improvements to the water network are essential in providing a safe, secure and reliable water supply, now and into the future."
