Call For Local Input To Major Mallow Development

A call has been issued for local people in Mallow, Co Cork, to have a say on a major development plan for the area.

Cork County Council is developing frameworks plans for the future development of the gardens and historic landscape at Mallow Castle together with the main public spaces at Mallow Town Park and Spa House Park.

The works are intended to connect these three amenities with each other and integrate them into the townscape. This will allow for development of Mallow Castle Park, Mallow Town Park and Spa House Amenity and Visitor Destination Development into an exceptional tourism destination and local amenity for the North Cork region.


The local authority is hosting an information event tomorrow, Thursday 20 June, from 3-8pm, which will show the emerging plans while inviting comments and observations.

Encouraging locals to attend the upcoming event, Mayor of the County of Cork Councillor Christopher O'Sullivan said: "This is a hugely significant project, for Mallow and for Cork County as a whole. This project will stimulate the growth of tourism in Mallow and provide a wonderful amenity for locals. As such, local input is vital for the success of this project."
