Irish firm Kingspan has secured a prize at a recent business awards ceremony in Wales.
The company's Kingspan Insulated Panels division was presented with the Wales Environmental Award at BITC Cymru's Wales Responsible Business Awards 2019.
Approximately 350 representatives from businesses, the third sector and government were in attendance to see nine companies recognised at the dinner for their business activity.
BBC Cymru Wales' Lucy Owen, who hosted the event, issued praise to Kingspan.
She said: "Kingspan's holistic approach to environmental sustainability as well as helping to reduce CO2 emissions through its products, the business works hard to minimise the environmental impact of its manufacturing process, and is on track to achieve Net Zero Energy in 2020."
Commenting on Kingspan's environmental commitments Phil Smith, Managing Director UK and Ireland, added: "When we talk about sustainability being a vital consideration for a successful business, it is not just a sales pitch for our products. We are property owners and end users ourselves, and the various sustainable initiatives we run are what we do to thrive as a large manufacturer. By openly sharing and reporting the results of this work, we hope to lead by example and show other businesses in all industries that sustainable business practice is not only achievable, but profitable."
