A call has been issued to increase the provision of community facilities in the Outer North area of L'Derry.
Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan urged the government to include these developments when outlining plans for social homes.
Speaking after a leading a delegation of Education Authority officials in the Outer North, the Foyle representative said: "Community organisations have a number of transformation plans in the place for the area and continue to work in conjunction with the Education Authority, particularly on education and youth programmes.
"Over two years ago, I established a working group following concerns about the lack of new community facilities to meet the surge in new families moving in to recently built houses in the area.
"It's vital that when and much needed social houses are built, new community facilities are factored in as part of any planning.
"We will continue to work with all partners to progress to ensure there is proper community facilities developed to meet the high demand in Outer North area."
