A precautionary bathing water notice in place at Waterville beach in County Kerry has been lifted.
A team comprising Kerry County Council's Environmental Department and Irish Water found the water quality to be fully compliant with the required standards following an extensive test.
The one-off overflow occurred following a period of thunder and heavy rainfall that caused a power failure at the pump station.
Crews were on the ground maintaining the pump station and there have been no overflows from the pump station since then. A repair of the pump station was also completed successfully.
Kerry County Council and Irish Water are continuing to monitor the operation of the pump station.
