Work has begun to transform a vacant building in Wicklow town into a new library.
Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy and local Fine Gael TD Simon Harris visited the site to mark the beginning of construction.
This project will see the former Ulster Bank building on Main Street redeveloped into a public library along with Wicklow County Archives and Local Studies.
O'Connell Mahon Architects is leading the project with Byrne and Bryne Ltd also on board as the main contractor.
The new library is expected to be complete in 12 months and should open to the public in late summer 2020.
