The Midleton Youghal Greenway (MY Greenway) is being delivered on the disused railway line between Midleton and Youghal, incorporating stop-off points at the former stations in the villages of Mogeely and Killeagh.
Site clearance work will take place between November 2019 and February 2020 to allow investigations to take place. This will be followed by detailed design work, with construction expected to begin in late spring 2020.

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Christopher O'Sullivan said: "The Greenway will offer an important boost to tourism across the county and especially for East Cork with Youghal and Midleton likely to benefit from increased visitor numbers and a significant boost to the local economy. It will also be an important recreational amenity for the local community, with all the positive impacts on health and wellbeing that brings. The route takes in Ballvergan Marsh a wonderful opportunity to experience this unique coastal wetland with its spectacular views to Youghal Bay."
The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport is supporting the project with funding of €8 million.
The MY Greenway will take approximately two-and-a-half years to fully complete.
