People living in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Council area have come out in force to have their say on the new Local Development Plan.
The Council received over 120 written responses to the recent consultation on the draft Plan Strategy.
This will drive forward the next phase of public consultation which is to allow everyone with an interest to review the detailed comments made and to provide their views on any site specific policy matters raised as a result of the consultation.
An eight week consultation will now take place until Friday 06 December to allow for comments to be made on the representations.
Speaking about the next phase, Chair of the Planning Committee, Alderman Philip Brett, said: "I would like to thank everyone who responded during the consultation on the Council's Local Development Plan 2030 - draft Plan Strategy. Now it is important that interested parties have the opportunity to look at and comment on what people said about our Plan as they may have further views.
"This process of ongoing pubic participation will help ensure that the policy direction outlined in the Plan Strategy for the sustainable development of our Borough is considered sound when it comes forward for Independent Examination next year."
The consultation and further details can be accessed here.
