The expansion of Tallaght Stadium has taken a major leap forward with a key appointment.

Cooney Architects has agreed a deal to design the new North Stand, which will bring the capacity to 10,000.

They have also been appointed to remodel the Main Stand, developing improved press facilities and seating as well as additional corporate facilities on a new second floor.

Contracts were signed with South Dublin County Council late last month.

This news follows the opening of the South Stand in March 2019 and the recently announced plans to develop an advertising and marketing strategy.

These plans form part of a mission to promote Tallaght Stadium as an events venue to include music, festivals and all aspects of community events.
