The number of social homes in the pipeline heading into 2020 has increased by 19% on last year's figures.
Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy revealed the figures with the publication of the Q3 2019 Social Housing Construction Status Report yesterday, 11 December.
Approximately 22,721 homes are in the pipeline with 6,499 onsite nationwide by the end of September 2019.
The number of schemes in the programme has also grown by 346 schemes (3,587 homes) since the beginning of the year.
Together with the additional 8,050 homes in the pipeline, these projects will look to aid the continued reduction in the number of households on social housing waiting lists.
