Two young Northern Ireland students have been given an exclusive insight into the Piling & Ground Engineering industry at FK Lowry.
The local construction firm welcomed the placement students as part of their careers development.
During the week-long placement, they were escorted to Projects in Derry as well as the state-of-the-art, Pond Park Precast Manufacturing Facility in Lisburn.
The students, Darren and Daniel, are considering entering the Civil Engineering Industry through an Approved Apprenticeship Training Programme and were also welcomed by one of FK Lowry's Civil Engineering Apprentices, Rebecca Connor, who is currently undertaking her Civil Engineering Training through the Work+ Initiative. The joint ICE, DfE Scheme enables apprentices to earn as they learn from the age of 16, gaining invaluable industry experience and provides a direct progression pathway to higher levels of professional and technical work.
