A new-look leisure centre is set to open its doors in Dungannon later this week.
Dungannon Leisure Centre has been the subject of a £1.8 million investment for extensive refurbishments, which has seen the swimming pools, fitness suite, changing facilities and reception area all upgraded.
Further renovations include new tiling, pool linings, surrounds, filters and structural work, while the gym has been fitted out with a completely new range of fitness equipment. The centre's squash court has also been revamped.
The new Centre will open its doors on Friday 31 January with a full weekend of free activities to celebrate.
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney has welcomed the reopening of the Centre, saying: "We are delighted that Dungannon Leisure Centre is reopening after its extended closure for essential structural and refurbishment work. We know that the Dungannon public have been waiting very patiently for the reopening, and we hope that in revitalising the Centre, users have the opportunity for not only an improved experience but gain motivation to become more active, more often in the new surroundings."
Mid Ulster District Council put forward the investment in the project, which will also see the centre implement new opening hours to meet customer expectations and allow for additional weekend access to the gym and pool.
