Work To Commence On Resurfacing Project In Kilcoo

Work is to commence on a £295,000 carriageway resurfacing project in Kilcoo.

The improvement work will extend a distance of approximately 1.3 kilometres from its junction with Castlewellan Road to Drumboniff Road. The scheme includes resurfacing of the carriageway and upgrading of road drainage.

To facilitate the works it will be necessary to operate a weekday road closure (Monday – Friday) between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm from Monday 9 November until Friday 18 December 2020. During these times a diversion will be in place with traffic being diverted via Hilltown Road, Castlewellan Road, Main Street, Rathfriland Road, Hilltown Road, Castlewellan Road Rathfriland and vice versa

The road will be open to traffic in the evenings during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Completion of the work is expected by 18 December.
