Vehicle Restraint System Structure Installation

The Department for Infrastructure has announced that work have gotten underway for the installation of a vehicle restraint system structure on the A26 Frosses Road, located north of the A44 Drones Road Roundabout.

The works undertaken as part of the A26 dualling scheme will also see adjustments to the signs and lines on the approaches to the Drones Road roundabout together with some minor resurfacing works.

To facilitate the works it will be necessary to introduce a lane closure on the A26 Frosses Road from Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm. This will be in operation from Monday 28 June until Thursday 8 July 2021.

A one way road closure is also required from 8.00 pm on Friday 2 July until 6.00 am on Monday 5 July. The signed diversion will be in place on the A26 from its junction with the A44 Drones Road roundabout and the A26 Kilraughts roundabout via B15 Kilraughts Road.

Additional temporary traffic control measures will also be in operation at other times.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience to the public. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow any alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the works.

Completion of the work by 8 July 2021 is subject to favourable weather conditions. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
