A programme of essential hydrant replacement works has got underway in County Louth.
Irish Water is moving forward with the works which will secure supply for customers in Donore Road Industrial Estate and surrounding areas.
While works are ongoing customers in the Donore Road Industrial Estate and Matthews Lane will experience water outages, while surrounding areas of Platin Road, Bryanstown, Sunnyside, Dublin Road, Marian Park and Ballsgrove may experience low water pressure for short periods.
These shortages were originally scheduled for yesterday but have now been extended to 6pm today, Friday 27 August.
When works are completed it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the works, Donal Heaney, Irish Water said: "Irish Water understands the inconvenience caused when works occur and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in these areas."
