The transformation of Dundonald Ice Bowl has been boosted with a brand new investment.
Approximately £12.2 million has been awarded to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to support the redevelopment of the key visitor attraction. Funding was provided under the Levelling Up Fund, which allocated £50m to projects in Northern Ireland.
Welcoming the investment for Dundonald Ice Bowl, the Council's Capital Development Committee Chair, Councillor Sharon Lowry said: "I am delighted that the council has been successful in securing £12.2 million funding towards the redevelopment of the Dundonald International Ice bowl.
"This funding will support the transformation of the Ice Bowl into a top class visitor attraction, with state of the art facilities including an Olympic sized ice rink.
"The new facility will also provide improved access to health and wellbeing services to the local community. This is a flagship project for our council and the benefits will reach far beyond the local area. Now more than ever we welcome this investment which supports tourism, economic activity, job creation and employment. I look forward to being part of this project as it develops."
