A number of streets in Bangor are set to be improved through a series of footway upgrades.

Approximately £190,000 is being invested to reconstruct footways on Clandeboye Way, Monea Close, Monea Way, Loverock Way, Monea Drive, Rostrevor Way, Rostrevor Drive and Rostrevor Close.

Work will begin on Monday 28 February and is expected to last four weeks.

Localised traffic control will be in place at various times during the scheme. Residents will be kept informed of ongoing arrangements. During the period of construction, local access for residents will be maintained at all times, albeit some delays may be experienced.

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure.

Commenting on the upcoming works, Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment in upgrading the old flags with modern high quality footways will greatly improve usability of the footways for the benefit of all the residents in the area. I would like to thank the travelling public and local residents in advance for their cooperation while these much needed works are completed."
