Lagan Asphalt has been selected for the Kanturk/Mallow & Fermoy Municipal Districts Road Resurfacing Contract 2022.

The resurfacing contract is valued at €3.6 million and incorporates 25 sites extending to 23km of rural and urban road improvement works throughout Cork.

The scope of the works includes road resurfacing, major road reconstruction, traffic-calming measures, drainage and associated works to enhance the road network and improve safety for all road users.

Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr. Gillian Coughlan welcomed the appointment said: "Managing and maintaining our local roads network is a vital part of how Cork County Council supports communities across the county. The commencement of the Road Resurfacing Contract in North Cork will make a huge difference for residents and visitors to the many towns and villages throughout out Fermoy and Kanturk/Mallow Municipal Districts, supporting safer and more accessible routes between towns and villages."

The works will commence in May and are programmed to take around four months to complete.
