A programme of essential works is underway on the water supply in Glenamaddy, Co Galway.
Irish Water and Galway County Council deployed a team to deliver these works until 8pm last night, Tuesday 17 May.
Customers in the following areas experienced temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages including: Glenamaddy Town, Kilkerrin Road, Creggs Road and customers supplied by Knockmascahill Group Water Scheme.
Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.
Speaking about the works, Rónan Daly, Irish Water said: "Irish Water understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with Galway County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.
"Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit our Issues during or after an outage page."
