Kier BAM JV Embarks On New Journey With NI Water

Kier BAM Joint Venture (JV) has marked the beginning of a brand new journey with NI Water after securing a spot on the utility's £1.2bn Major Project Partnership Framework (MPPF).

The JV has been appointed to Lot 2, the highest value Lot on the framework, building on Kier's presence in Northern Ireland, supplementing existing major gas contracts with firmus energy, Phoenix Gas and SGN. The collaborative JV also enhances BAM's current portfolio in Northern Ireland, which includes the delivery of vital healthcare and road infrastructure projects.

The MPPF will deliver large, high complexity projects (over £10m in value) on water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets across Northern Ireland. Typical projects include upgrades to above and below ground assets, such as clean and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and network mains. The framework will run for an initial four-year period, with the option to extend by a further four years.

Andrew Bradshaw, Group managing director at Kier Utilities, said: "Our Utilities business has a longstanding presence in Northern Ireland and working in Joint Venture with BAM, we will utilise the combined skills and expertise to deliver important new infrastructure for Northern Ireland Water and the communities they serve."
