A water main has burst in the County Kerry village of Ardfert, resulting in outages for customers in the area.
Irish Water and Kerry County Council deployed a team to restore water as quickly as possible to impacted customers. The utility firm has also reiterated its commitment to deliver a new water mains for the area, which will bring greater resilience and reliability to the water supply.
Repairs reached completion yesterday evening, 07 July. Traffic management was in place to facilitate the works.
To support impacted customers, a water tanker with clean drinking water was available at Ardfert Church Car Park for the duration of the outage.
Irish Water made every effort to ensure that the alternative drinking water supply provided, including the tanker and dispensing tap, were adequately disinfected.
Oliver Harney from Irish Water thanked the community for their patience as the water supply was returned to normal.
