Vision To Outline Roadmap For Tullamore's Future

The development of a new framework which sets out the vision for Tullamore's future has been unlocked.

Offaly County Council and Brady Shipman Martin have signed a contract for the €200,000 Tullamore Regeneration Framework, which will provide a plan for delivering future integrated urban developments by both the public and private sectors.

The Framework will set the vision for the development of a number of key opportunity sites, delivered to make for a strong town centre with sustainable access and permeability in the town.

Offaly County Council signed a contract with Brady Shipman Martin for the Tullamore Regeneration Framework. The contract was signed by the Chief Executive of Offaly County Council, Anna Marie Delaney and John Kelly managing partner of Brady Shipman Martin, in the presence of the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O'Brien TD.

The project is funded through an Urban Regeneration & Development Fund award of €150,000 from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and funding of €50,000 from Offaly County Council.

Minister Darragh O'Brien said: "The Tullamore Regeneration Framework will provide a roadmap for future public realm, regeneration and renewal opportunities in Tullamore with sustainable access & permeability. The framework will guide Offaly County Council in future urban regeneration & development projects, supported by this Department."

Chief Executive of Offaly County Council, Anna Marie Delaney added: "The Tullamore Regeneration Framework will support our vision for Offaly as a County that is an attractive place to live, work in or visit. A strong suite of regeneration sites, delivered with the public and private sector working in unison to complement each other will make for a strong town centre and the mainstay of a strong key town."

The framework is due to be completed in 2023 following public consultation.
