Works to improve the walkability of Longford town centre is continuing to make significant progress.
The Longford Connected works will increase footfall and encourage greater activity and engagement, particularly with local traders.
Through enhancing Longford Town's connectivity and accessibility, this wayfinding project will help to encourage future investment, acting as the spark for continued enhancement of our town.
Longford Connected works are happening at Market Square, Grafton Court and Longford Centre carpark. Works include improved surfaces, lighting, signage, street furniture, landscaping, improved accessibility for parking areas and connectivity between important places with Longford Town.
RPS Consulting Engineers Limited is serving as the Project Manager and Designer for the project. The project is supported by the elected members of Longford County Council. Funding is through the Urban Regeneration Development Fund (URDF) under Project Ireland 2040 from the Government of Ireland and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
